Vote Yes – Renew the Economic Development Sales Tax
On August 3rd the residents of the City of Emporia will be asked if they want to renew the one-half cent sales tax for the purpose of economic development and property tax relief.

At the May 24, 2010, Board of Directors meeting, your Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce Board voted to support the renewal of the one-half cent sales tax to be used for industrial and economic development purposes as well as property tax relief. We encourage you to learn more about the proposed extension of this sales tax, and we think you will agree that it is a wise investment in our community and region.
