The 15th Annual Women’s Symposium is on Tuesday, October 20, 2009. The event is held at Sacred Heart Parish Hall, 101 Cottonwood. There is a Morning Session from 8 a.m. – Noon and an Afternoon Session from 12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. We hope the convenience of half-day sessions allows all employees to attend while still staffing the office. As always, the Women’s Symposium is a professional development conference for women providing exciting educational and networking opportunities.
The Emporia Area Chamber and Visitors Bureau are pleased to announce their new partnership with Medical Arts Clinic – Emporia, a division of Stormont-Vail HealthCare. We truly appreciate their support with this event! Medical Arts Clinic – Emporia saw this as a great way to introduce their doctors to you. In July of last year they introduced two new obstetrics and gynecology specialists, Christina Faulkner, M.D. and Trish Miller-Wood, D.O. Both are natives of Emporia and joined David Kemp, M.D. in the local practice.
This years Keynote speaker will be Sharon Cheney RN, MA. Sharon Cheney is a Registered Nurse with a Master of Arts degree in Adult and Continuing Education and post graduate work in Gerontology. She will be speaking about Changes, Challenges and Chuckles. Come learn and laugh through topics that allow us to look for positive changes that challenge us to THRIVE, not just survive from day to day.
Julia Fabris McBride, Coach, speaker and facilitator and Barb Rourk, Wellness Specialist from the Emporia Recreation Commission will also be speaking at the 2009 Women’s Symposium.
